What is Connect?
Connect is a half-day, no non-sense, leadership workshop for senior pastors, small group pastors, and small group champions. Designed to be extraordinarily practical, CONNECT tackles the most common questions small group leaders face. You’ll walk away with fresh insights and ideas on:
• Casting a small group vision to your church
• Recruiting and training leaders
• Addressing childcare needs
• Developing effective communication and reporting systems
• Defining purpose, core values, and a small group model
• Getting people to sign up for groups
• Selecting curriculum and resources
Who are the Speakers?
The Connect Workshop can be conducted by Pastor Darius Johnston and/or Pastor Stephen Blandino.
Darius Johnston is the Senior pastor at Christ Church Assembly of God, a congregation averaging over 1,200 in weekend attendance. Darius believes small groups are essential to the health and growth of the local church. He provides perspective for senior pastors and shares great insight on small group vision casting.
Stephen Blandino is the associate pastor at Christ Church Assembly of God and provides oversight to small groups, discipleship, and leadership development. Under his leadership the small group ministry of Christ Church has doubled with 86% of the average adult weekend attendance connected in an off-campus or on-campus small group. Stephen addresses the very practical aspects of building and leading an effective small group ministry.
